To shorten the time to load this page I listed the images in a table. The Comment-entry is a link to another part of this page (you do not have to reload anything to get it), the Object-entry loads the image.
You can use the images as long as ALL data is supplied and no commercial efforts are taken!

The image is a composit of three images, taken on March 25, 27 and 30. Time, integration time are shown in the image. The first image has been taken in the Harz Mountains, abt. 30 km from my home to avoid beeing "fogged" out. The other images have been taken at my home place. On the left hand side you can see the black and white images, the right part shows a false color image of the core region.

The image was taken in Kreiensen. It has been processed using MIDAS (unsharp masking, logarithmic scaling). The right part of the image shows the core region in false color mode.

The image has been processed as the one above. The comet had changed a lot during the two days between the images. This was my last image of Hyakutake B2 because of its low position in the sky and some trees in my neighbourhood.

This image has been taken during a relatively clear spring night. It was combined out of 25 exposures with 30 seconds integration time by ccdops from SBIG. A special detail is the line at the right hand side of the galaxy: during one of the images a bright satellight passed close to the galaxy...

This image of comet Hale Bopp has been combined out of three single, filtered images (red, green and blue filter). The three imgages have been centered on the comet's core. The stars show the comet's motion... The image has been taken at the Grasweg Observatory in Bad Gandersheim together with R.A. Hillebrecht.

This was the first image for me to try another method to enhance detail. The left image is only logarithmically scaled as usual. In the right image a rotated image (angle: 7 degrees) has been substracted from the original image. This enhanced the jet structure dramatically.

This image has been taken on an Astro Party near Hildesheim. The top image is the logarithmically scaled version, the bottom one is the rotated version (see comet Hale-Bopp above). This time the angle was 15 degrees. The image shows the fast movement of comet Tabur as well.
Zurück zur Tabelle / Back to the table
This image shows comet Tabur together with M108. The image was taken with a very short integration time to be able to see both - galaxy and comet. Because of the fast movement of Tabur a longer integration was not useful, just look at the other Tabur image from the same day! M108 would normally neet about 4 times longer integration as used here.

This image of the moon has been taken on April 21 in the dawn. I had no chance to get another image of Hyakutake these days because of some trees, so I pointed my "Russian Barrel", a Maksutov like telephoto lens to the moon and took 6 images with my ST5 camera at prime focus. These images have been combined to a mosaik.
